    JOB SUMMARY:
    The person is responsible for training, developing and managing production employees & production processes within an electronic manufacturing environment that focuses on electro-mechanical systems integration. These activities are conducted within the framework of our corporate values towards the goal of meeting local operating plans which set targets of profitability, revenue, quality and levels of expectation towards achieving excellence in overall customer service.

    RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY

    The Production Manager has the responsibility and authority to establish practices, manage resources and run a production function that can provide the required products with 95% on time delivery at the desired quality levels specified by Power-One and our customers.

    The Production Manager has specific responsibilities for the following:

    • Select, develop and manage a highly competent and motivated staff of employees.
    • Directly manage the functions of production.
    • Investigate and implement effective corrective & preventive action for deficient processes. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of manufacturing. Drive continuous improvement in the areas of quality, productivity, and cost.
    • Generate and manage production metrics and reports that allow for timely and effective value added decisions to be made in order to meet production schedules and quality levels. Provide monthly reviews of production metrics to senior management.
    • Assist in generating and properly manage the departmental budget and related capital expenditures.
    • Contribute towards developing and proactively manage the production department’s annual operating plans to be consistent with company objectives and strategy.
    • Create Standard Operating Procedures & manufacturing documentation required to ensure that products are built productively and of superior quality consistent with the highest company standards and customer expectations.
    • Ensure the compliance to inspection and testing procedures and the control of the inspection and test status of the products in the production process.
    • Participate in the management and approval process for the disposal of nonconforming product.
    • Assist the Quality Manager with the internal quality audit of the production functions. Ensure departmental compliance with company policy and ISO requirements.
    • Identify training needs of production staff.
    • Assist the Human Resource Department with establishing and implementing training programs.
    • Provide timely employee performance reviews.
    • Conduct all business in a fashion consistent with the highest of professional ethics.


    1. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCES

    • Degree in either Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical), Logistics or Operations Management
    • Strong hands on experience with developing and supervising factory floor personnel including a solid understanding of local labor law and practices.
    • Strong knowledge of SMT, THT & electromechanical assembly manufacturing processes.
    • Capable of productively managing a high mix, low to medium volume manufacturing operation with world class results.
    • Quality auditor training and quality management experience within an ISO framework.
    • Working knowledge of formal problem solving skills inclusive of Statistical Process Control techniques such as 6 sigma.
    • In depth understanding of MRPII/ERP system logic, Oracle or SAP preferred.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management including working level understanding of production planning and purchasing procedures.
    • Understanding of Bill of Materials and Engineering documentation, inclusive of Engineering Change practices.
    • Minimum of a basic understanding of electronics and/or electrical circuits.
    • Understanding of industrial engineering concepts in time and motion studies, line balancing, creation of Bill of Operations, work instruction development, etc.
    • Ability to communicate and interface effectively with local & international clients and suppliers.
    • Effective project management skills.

    2. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

    Minimum 10 years industry experience in an electronics manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years in a similar position of management position, and practice in multi-national company is a must.

    3. TECHNICAL SKILLS

    Good knowledge and experience at using Oracle or SAP, understanding ISO9000 and ISO14000 procedure deeply, ability to read mechanical drawing and electric specification.

    4. LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Mandarin & working level English. Both oral and written capabilities.
    Ability to write all type of English reports and correspondence.
    Fluent at speaking English.

    5. COMPUTER SKILLS
    Intermediate software skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to create and present reports and management summaries to all levels of the organization.


    6. REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    Ability to deal with urgent situation with high flexibility without conflict to Company procedure.
    Ability to provide constructive suggestion when finding bug in existing procedure.
