DESCRIPTION
Plays an important role to design new products and enhance existing products. Work with diverse technologies which allow for numerous career growth paths, including, but not limited to, analog and digital circuitry, FPGA development, microprocessors, C++ embedded software development, optical testing techniques, as well as all aspects of fiber optic testing in a real-world environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reviews, analyzes and develops hardware circuitry, tests and debugs designs to support proprietary hardware for fiber optic test equipment. Must have a solid background in prototyping, debugging, and testing of microprocessor and analog circuits, and low level analog and high speed logic design experience. Gathers requirements from marketing specifications, creates engineering specifications, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes. Also performs specific portions of broader assignments within small scale projects under the supervision of a senior level engineer and assists in procurement of prototype materials and literature for new designs.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs prototyping, debugging, and testing of microprocessor and analog circuits.
Performs low level analog and high speed logic design.
Writes low level C, C++ or assembly software using prescribed specifications.
Uses schematic capture tools and netlist generation to develop schematics.
Tests and develops all modifications to existing designs.
Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree (BSET or BSEE preferred) with 3 years of directly related experience.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required.
Solid background in prototyping, debugging, and testing of microprocessor and analog circuits.
Low level analog and high speed logic experience preferred.
Working knowledge of C and assembly language.
Working knowledge of schematic capture tools.
Fiber optic experience preferred.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Fluent in English.
