JOB SUMMARY
Develop and manage Materials Planning function for goods and materials demanded by Company's vessels. Create item specific forecasts over a rolling time horizon to be used for ordering and inventory management purposes. Create integrated processes among Operations, planning, warehouse and outside suppliers to execute the planning/replenishment process. Identify systems tools needed to implement planning/forecasting systems. Lead reengineering efforts as it relates to supply chain planning and execution systems.
Other responsibilities include: Manage and supervise staff tasked with creating material requirement plans and/or forecasts; establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning / forecasting; measure actual performance against goals on regular basis and present results to senior management; familiar with the development, use, and implementation of planning and forecasting systems; apply expertise to specify system functionality; travel within China and Hong Kong to develop and supervise the planning/forecasting process and utilize computer software programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, for data analysis and reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
The Planning Manager is expected to supervise the planning, material and warehouse team. He or she is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this section. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
-This position reports to the Director of Material.
-Manage the entire Planning, Material functions of Office site in a highly sophisticated manufacturing environment in achieving best in class Material and Planning related performance.
-Key responsibilities include planning and order fulfillment, managing short-term & long-term Product Strategic planning. Managing all aspects of Material and warehouse functions including, inventory, systems and business processes enhancement, warehouse Operations etc.
-Lead the entire Material and Planning group in driving for process improvement, Business process and Systems implementation which elevate the baseline performance of all Material and Planning related performance indicators.
-Liase with HQ senior management counterpart on an on-going basis not only in sustaining business deliverables such as build plan commit, drive material availability etc, but also jointly develop strategic initiatives as well as business and systems process improvements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The Planning Manager shall possess the following competencies:
-At least 8 years of Material/Planning working experience in multi-national manufacturing environment where advanced ERP is used.
-You must have excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
-You must be detail-oriented and have the capacities to handle complex and dynamic situations.
-A minimum of 3 years experience in Managing Material and Planning group at a senior level with full Management responsibility is absolutely required.
-Must possess excellent oral and written English communication skill. Therefore the candidate should have used English as working language is his/her previous job.
-You must possess excellent people management skill. You must be able to lead the team to excel by setting aggressive goal and expectations, while motivating them effectively in achieving these goals.
-Your job will require constant interaction with HQ counterparts. Therefore you must have excellent interaction and influencing skill.
